Peacock was often the primary streaming home for huge live events, including a few exclusive to the platform. To highlight this and reward loyal fans, we did live community management, responding and amplifying the voices of people watching live. Events like Super Bowl LVIII, Wrestlemania XL, and NFL's AFC Wild Card playoff, exclusively on Peacock, generated buzz on all social platforms, and we were along for the ride.
Sports makes a huge impact in meme culture online, and we were always happy to join in on the fun. After major events or trending moments, we were always there with a meme, video, or relatable post to extend the conversation. This also helped to integrate sports into the overall Peacock ecosystem, along with all of our beloved shows.
Some sporting events were so huge they required their own dedicated social campaigns. Wrestlemania XL was widely regarded as one of the most cinematic and exciting WWE events in years, and we made sure to keep the hype train rolling before, during, and after. When Caitlyn Clark made history with her record-breaking scoring streak, we were there to capture the moment and the excitement.
Sports on streaming is a fairly new frontier, and Peacock is one of the platforms paving the way. Our work helped to change the way people view and discuss sports on social, and helped to welcome these athletes and teams into the ever-expanding Peacock universe.
